Summary

Varaico collects personal data only for user login. When you sign in, we store your name, email address, and profile image from your Google account. This login identity is linked to your bookmarks, your search history, and your votes (thumbs up/down) on extracted variants. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

What we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and profile image, received from Google when you sign in with Google.
• Bookmarks: variants and occurrences you explicitly bookmark, linked to your account.
• Search history: the search queries you run while signed in, linked to your account.
• Votes: your thumbs up / thumbs down on extracted variants, linked to your account.
• Comments: any comments you submit on variants or occurrences, linked to your account.
• Cookies: a session cookie for login, and — only if you consent — anonymous analytics cookies (see Cookie Settings in the footer).

Why we collect it

We collect personal data only to provide logged-in features: identifying you across sessions, saving your bookmarks and search history, and associating your votes and comments with you. We do not sell personal data.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion:

• Your profile data (name, email, profile image) is erased: those fields are cleared from your user record. A de-identified record is kept only so your votes can be retained as aggregate community signal (see below).
• Your bookmarks, search history, and login sessions are deleted.
• Your votes (thumbs up/down) remain, because they are used as aggregate community signals and, once your profile data is erased, cannot be traced back to you.
• Your comments may be retained for moderation and quality review, but the name and email address attached to them are removed, so they are no longer associated with you.

Third parties

• Google: used for sign-in. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles your data.
• Google Analytics: loaded only if you consent via the cookie banner. Used to understand aggregate traffic.
• Resend: used to send email updates if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email.

Your rights

You can view your personal data on the account settings page, delete your account at any time, and manage cookie preferences from the footer. For any other request (e.g. a copy of your data), contact [email protected].
